About
Ever since the Chughtai Family had moved to Pakistans city of Sialkot decades ago, they picked up on the profession of tailoring as a means of income. Fareed Chughtai, the founder of Chughtai Tailoring, was born in Sialkot but raised in Ontario, Canada. Fareed comes from both the Chughtai and Minhas family of Sialkot, who were involved with tailoring from centuries. Learning about his family history inspired him to continue the tradition in Canada. This perserverance to carry on a family tradition is what sparked the idea of Chughtai Tailoring, a local tailoring service.
After purchasing his first sewing machine, Fareed Chughtai began exploring projects and ideas. Automation had helped with his business U-Neeq, but he wanted to go further with what he could now create. After making his first cushion and posting a photo online, he received much positive feedback. This interested Fareed in creating home decor products for his local friends and family.

When Fareed Chughtai's aunt from Denmark came to visit in the summer of 2014, he decided to learn how to create clothing. Fareed's aunt, Erum Rahman, had been making South Asian clothing from years as a hobby. Through much training and practice, Fareed had learned how to make a Kurta, an upper garment worn widely throughout South Asia.

From his experience of working with Kurta's, Fareed practiced moving onto collared shirts! After much effort and practice, he had learned the art of crafting a tailored shirt. Fareed enjoys making these not only for himself but for others who order them!

The First Order: Tailored Pajamas!
Fareed was eventually contacted by a few dance teams to have costumes custom made. One of these dance teams was Shiamak Toronto! Shiamak Toronto continues to contact Fareed for costumes after winning best costume award on their first order.
